S9158 - Calcite - $400
Kangjiawan Mine, Hunan Province, China
Overall Size: 10.7 x 7 cm
Choice hematite included calcite that is highly defined from all sides and in good condition, of course
the base is cleaved. It is a joy to view two crystals of a different shape, one aesthetically hanging from
the prism side. The quality and availability of specimens now on the market are not very appealing,
here is a wonderful example from many years ago. Amazing calcium carbonate for China!

S9159 - Rhodochrosite - SOLD
Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 5.7 x 4.3 cm
Significant rhodo locale! Wow what pretty pink spherical aggregates reaching a length of 1.5 cm
upon the upper portion of matrix. Limited numbers of these have been for sale, nearly all lack color
and xtl size, unlike the piece illustrated above that is the best I have seen. Hard to beat since mostly
rhodonites emerge from the area. Gorgeous!

S9160 - Quartz with Dioptase - $200
Sanda Mine, Mindouli, Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo
Overall Size: 3.2 x 2.7 cm
Clear yet hazy glass-like smoky quartz of 2 cm from tip to tip sits perched on massive green dioptase
matrix, a rarity for the locality as most specimens do not consist of qtz. Some contacted areas can be
seen where the specimen had to be freed from the pocket wall, regardless of this trivial issue it's an
uncommon combo for such material.

S9161 - Smoky Quartz - $800
Aiguilles Marbrees, Monte Bianco, Aosta Valley, Italy
Overall Size: 18.2 x 11 cm
Huge exceptional plate of pleasing rootbeer-brown color showing sharp flawless prisms! To find pieces
with the high degree of quality in such size isn't easy from the Italian alps, a considerable number are
singles or absent of cluster form, i.e. these numerous smoky quartzes compliment one another. For the
three figure range it's a steal. No damage.

S9162 - Emerald - $1100 SOLD
Coscuez Mine, Boyaca, Colombia
Overall Size: 5 x 4 cm
A whopping 5 cm prism! Highly glassy transparent vibrant green beryl sits upon gray-white calcite
matrix of 5 x 4 cm in size, nothing quite like Colombian pieces possess the unreal glowing
saturation and clarity to be the epitome of emeralds and even as fine specimens are still unearthed
today monster crystals remain uncommon. Beautiful display piece.

Mashamba West Mine, Shaba Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Overall Size: 9.5 x 8.3 cm
Strong and intriguing flattened rhombohedra of 3 cm in length sits upon matrix to form a truly distinctive
small cabinet specimen, amazing how some minerals can be so dramatically colorful. This piece

analyzed. To date these outclass a large percentage in the worldwide, just imagine the visual effect
in your case with lights, a blazing show stopper!

S9164 - Fluorite - $3000
Xianghualing Mine, Hunan Province, China
Overall Size: 12 x 10.5 cm
Huge perfect floater crystal! This well formed mint-green cuboctahedron has a nicely frosted surface
on every face as well as internally gemmy, I cannot recall seeing another as big with symmetry from
the initial find. Even though China is the fluorite king of the world very few come up for sale that hit this
mark, no hype, to the trained eye it's of the utmost rarity to acquire the equal. On this same page is an
average example hence the lower price. Recently released out of a top-notch private collection.

S9165 - Spessartine - $425
Kaplu Valley, Skardu District, Pakistan
Overall Size: 4.4 x 3.5 cm
Wonderful triangular shape which is the result of corrosion from within the pocket. Usually,
spessartine of this nature have no matrix such as the Brazilian pieces meanwhile Pakistani
crystals of the like are infrequently seen with or without matrix. Gemmy and damage free, xtl
is 1.7 x 1.5 cm in size.
|
S9166 - Fluorite - $750
Xianghualing Mine, Hunan Province, China
Overall Size: 9.8 x 7.9 cm
The stacked growth is super. It is a pleasing pale mint-green fluorite of 8.5 cm across propped up
upon another crystal, nice depth and 3 dimensional look from all angles! In spite of the outpouring
of specimens from the country this is still a choice small cabinet piece of fair value.
|
S9167 - Smithsonite - $700
Masua Mine, Iglesias, Sardinia, Italy
Overall Size: 5.6 x 5 cm
Outstanding botryoidal canary-yellow smithsonite! Sardinia produced significant minerals at one
time, today it's quite nice to see a fine specimen from this part of the world. As mentioned production
ceased long ago so examples from this well-known mine will remain highly collectible, ones this good
are irreplaceable! Nothing comparable in grade ever seems to surface, typically seen with a sawn
base.
|

As long as people dare to go into this dangerous region in search of specimens we can expect great
new finds to emerge just like this one from several years ago, yet of limited supply and mostly singles.

viewed upright all the crystals show excellent luster without damage.
