S8562 - Calcite with Dolomite epimorph - $725
Nuxis Mine, Iglesias, Sardinia, Italy
Overall Size: 9.2 x 6.5 cm
Always fun trying to figure out the initial crystal, I am told it was calcite. At any rate, the piece is
very interesting with the hollow light pink dolomite cast as well as the opaque snow-white lining
of scalenohedral xtls most of which are in pristine shape. This is one of those rocks that keep
the hobby engaging, I can suggest that it's a smart pick because of the atypical nature of the
specimen in addition to Sardinian pieces as established classics. Overall size is 9.2 x 6.5 cm.
