S8172 - Phosphophyllite - $6500 SOLD
Unificada Mine, Cerro Rico, Potosi, Bolivia
Overall Size: 6.1 x 3.5 cm
Collector Mineral Specimens of Phosphophyllite for Sale from Unificada Mine, Cerro Rico, Potosi, Bolivia
Phosphophyllite on matrix! Loose crystals are difficult enough to find, but we infrequently see the
mineral attached to the rock even by the advanced collector! I don't know anyone who doesn't
appreciate the glowing saturated color of the species, literally emitting blue and green. The fact that
it's a rare mineral in display quality happens to be extremely desirable and considered the ultimate
according to many many people. This very fine example of 6.1 x 3.5 cm in size has crystals to 2.5
cm tall. If on your hit list it is a good buy because few collectors own a matrix piece in the larger size
range along with the never-ending demand for the mesmerizing mineral, nothing short of being
superb!
