S7643 - Epidote - $1250
Knappenwand, Untersulzbachtal, Austria
Overall Size: 5 x 4 cm
Aesthetic crisscrossing of high quality rich green epidotes reaching up to 2.5 cm in length sit inter-
connected with pretty acicular bluish-green byssolite needles for a miniature of 5 x 4 cm in overall
size. The prism sides and terminations of the four main crystals are in pristine condition, of course
there are some non terminated ends typical for Austrian material, imagine extracting this piece out
of a pocket as the natural breaks allow the prism ends to fall from the specimen, some people who
have never been in a mine don't seem to get the concept of why so many specimens from here show
damage or repairs, it is what it is a fine miniature! Purchased around 1946 as written on the previous
label.

S7644 - Proustite - $2300
Dolores Mine, Chanarcillo, Chile
Overall Size: 5 x 4.5 cm
Among collectors of worldwide minerals, proustite ranks at or near the top from this location. The fact
that it's a silver arsenic sulfide with cherry-red saturation and high luster make these extremely desirable,
a rare species in display quality, the ultimate for the connoisseur. Also historically important as well,
miners encountered vugs in the 1850s, all in all matchless for the stated reasons. This choice example of
5 x 4.5 cm in size has crystals up to 1.2 cm in length, halogen light was used to show the hidden true red
color. If on your hit list it is a good buy, considered one of the "holy grails" of mineral collecting and forever
a treasure!

S7648 - Copper - $625
New Cornelia Mine, Ajo, Arizona
Overall Size: 10 x 5 cm
Very nice grouping of copper crystals reaching 1 cm in size still maintains the natural patina look but
could be brighter with a quick dip if desired. Once fairly common but less is available today, at least
in the 4 inch size range. Photos are dead on as the mineral is easy to shoot, also displays well if
flipped 180 degrees, simple task in photoshop for those who know how, at any rate it's one native
element that would show well on a glass shelf, fair price too.
