Strange color zoning near the termination where the etching has stopped creating a unique and
wonderful multicolored scepter, the kind rarely seen from the tourmaline family! All faces are glassy,
undamaged, and sharp on this elbaite of 3.7 x 1.2 cm in overall size. These surfaced about 3 years
ago, the better shown here as I saw the entire lot, super miniature!

Matrix tourmaline from Brazil! For the 7.3 x 4.5 cm size plus the yellowish-green color, it's a good
price. The crystal is doubly terminated as well as isolated against sharp whitish microcline showing
the xtl outline. Stands upright without a base on a shelf, great for a green elbaite!

In recent years this mine has produced many outstanding tourmalines of various colors, shown above
is a particular shade of blue with some red terminations that are easily recognizable from Pederneira,
from one of the most colorful pockets. Neat lepidolite ball too, just enough to show the aesthetics well
and not be matrixless. Size is 11.2 x 2.3 cm, no damage on termination.

Elegant greenish-blue saturated rich tone, not to light or to dark, the kind of hue a cutter would pick.
Pristine termination that has glassy see through faces, very important in a gem crystal. I'm sure the
few small veils and wisps saved it from being chopped up, measures 3.6 x 1.4 cm in overall size,
damage free.

Blue cap thumbnail of 2.3 x 1 cm in size from the now famous Sapo mine! When these first came
onto the market they were an instant hit with knowledgeable collectors, today pieces are still highly
desirable because of the rich deep blue color zoning at the termination, unique tourmaline for sure!

From earlier finds at this known Brazilian mine comes this 11 x 4.5 cm in size grouping of strong green
crystals with typical dark green flat terminations, in very perfect condition at top. As a display type
specimen the prismatic form is ideal for the cabinet, tall with an appealing shape. Nice white blade of
cleavelandite sticks out more in person.

in size with a sharp white quartz xtl attached near the top, it actually shows a complete termination from
the backside, displays both ways. Hard to find a perfect rock but here it is! Eye candy.

Excellent scepters have come from Barra de Salinas for years however few are available due to the
fact that finds are small and sporadic in addition to having collectors who own a really fine example
rarely part with it, this one shown just now released. The dissolving process always starts from one
end and etches inward in color zoned crystals, the weaker side corroding first, interesting! Truly a
wonderful bi-color gem xtl reaching 7.3 x 1.3 cm in size.
