The Himalaya mine has yielded attractive tourmalines for over a century. Today the good pink color on
the classic looking quartz is uncommon, even in California collections this style is usually regarded as
first-rate. Several gemmy rose-pink crystals up to 6 cm in length sit with investing smoky qtz of 10 x 8.2
cm in overall size. The locality has been an important producer of fine mineral specimens, every
collector should own at least one matrix piece.

Look at that flaming hot-pink tourmaline! This color made the Stewart material famous among cutters,
it is rare to find well formed crystals with the violet lepidolite indicative of this mine, quite appealing. A
premier U.S. locality for elbaite, measures 3.8 x 2.3 cm in overall size, super miniature!

Little Three Mine, San Diego County, California
Overall Size: 5.8 x 3.5 cm
The Little Three mine is known for producing outstanding orange spessartines, but during the search
for garnets miners sometimes find yellowish-green elbaite crystals. This one of 5.8 x 3.5 cm in size is
of the fatter type which is harder to get when compared to slender pencils, also numerous tiny topaz
xtls have adhered to the basal termination, it's typically seen in pieces from here. Note both ends are
terminated too which isn't common, no damage.

Everyone familiar with Himalaya pieces knows the strong rich color zoning seen in some crystals, this
one exhibits about five! The doubly terminated elbaite of 6.5 x 2.4 cm in size is absolutely pristine with
amazing coloration and translucency, in part this has made the mineral overwhelmingly popular, a
good pick for California tourmaline!

This is as pretty a pink as you will see from the Himalaya dike. Countless finds of various colors come
from the famous mine, but this almost burnt pink stands apart, also it is gem quality! Both ends are
terminated for a length of 9.1 x 1.5 cm, a tiny chip is present that can be the base. If you like pegmatite
minerals you will love this one, good size, good price.

Fano Mine, Riverside County, California
Overall Size: 17.5 x 15.3 cm
A locality piece for sure, but a good one! The Fano produced fine aquamarine specimens as well as
some of CA best schorl, here we have a large crossed up piece measuring 17.5 x 15.3 cm in overall
size, 7 inches! Wow now that is impressive for the golden state! There are several repairs which is
the norm for the locale not an issue for those who know the mine. I guarantee it's easier to buy than
dig, a treasure indeed.

Overall Size: 4.4 x 4 cm
Three piece combo of sharp lustrous white cleavelandite with rich purple books of lepidolite attached
to the pink prism side forming a composite of 4.4 x 4 cm in size, from early mining after the 1970s
reopening of the mine. These crystallized albite blades could be considered matrix or just another
mineral, either way the contrast adds greatly to this miniature. Few are as appealing, in top condition.
