After the Sainte-Marie show in France Italian dealer Giuseppe Agozzino and I decided to head south
to the island of Sicily in search of sulfur which has been recently collected from the long abandoned
Cianciana mine. Local collectors have been working in very dangerous unstable areas deep in the
mine that is filled with bad air or sulfurous gases, in order to stay underground miners are required to
use oxygen canisters to keep from passing out! This crazy mining process was caught on video
showing what some people will do for a rock! Although various qualities and sizes were available we
selected pristine, gemmy, and aesthetic specimens being top notch for the species. It is a must have
mineral for most collectors because of the striking appearance which is perfect for display. This
fabulous offering is as good as it gets making for one treasure worth adding to your collection.
