Garnets from the Liguria region are one of Italy's best known mineral localities. Other classical alpine deposits
in the country often show high luster and quality but on average lack crystal size, these mostly dodecahedral
wine-red crystals reach measurable lengths by comparison. Bluish clinochlore also occurs in the veins for a
stunning two species combo as well! Color, contrast, matrix and bright glassy surfaces make the specimens

Exquisite! In person this isolated crystal stands up in relief like few I have seen, it is literally perched on
a corner and measures 0.8 x 0.7 cm in size with the majority of matrix being crystallized, what a classy
miniature. Fine alpine specimens have never been widespread even though prolific amounts were found
in the last century. It is only from private collections or in this case unearthed material where the finer
examples surface from today. No damage.
