The celebrated Jeffrey Mine in Asbestos, Quebec, Canada has many colors of vesuvianite, but the
saturated green crystals are extremely rare. These chromian rich crystals formed in small isolated
pockets surrounded by massive pale-green vesuvianite of the common type; thus the stunning color
is infrequently seen, in fact few worldwide localities produce fine examples. Many specimens from
the find were thumbnail and miniature, so size isn't essential as the glassy pure emerald like crystals
are spectacular for the species.

Splendid crisscrossing of doubly terminated emerald-green vesuvianites up to 2.3 cm in length sit
piled atop matrix reaching 4 x 2.7 cm in overall size. For the locality it's not to shabby and for my eye
the crystals are nicely stacked for an overall aesthetic shape also the surface is highly glassy.
