S10413 - Brazilianite with Albite - $1600
Corrego Frio Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 3.2 x 2.5 cm
|
|
|
|
|
Not only does this brazilianite have wonderful rich yellowish green color, but the crystal of 3.2 x 2 x 2 cm in size
has plopped right on top of crystallized white albite for a full 360 degree aesthetic specimen. Hard to capture in
a photo although I assure you this phosphate is glassy and transparent if not almost entirely flawless in person.
It is undoubtedly from the Swoboda find that is still considered the finest to date. A jewel in hand.

S10414 - Titanite with Orthoclase - $400 SOLD
Tormiq Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Overall Size: 8.2 x 6 cm
|
|
|
Wow! These Paki titanites sure do have great color and quality. Rarely does the collector find gem quality
monoclinic green crystals with bright luster amid sharply formed white feldspars. All specimens on this page
were professionally collected resulting in damage free specimens. In all a great buy at a fair price for
the cabinet. Xls measure up to 2.2 cm long.

S10415 - Spinel with Calcite - $2500
Pian Pit, Mogok, Myanmar
Overall Size: 4 x 3 cm
|
|
|
|
Seen here is a smoker matrix spinel of intense pigeon-blood red without any of the common brown overtones
making this the real deal! Burma tends to produce loose crystals accounting for a lot of the production; therefore,
white calcite is highly prized by collectors and for my personal taste it is the amplified contrast of such matrix that
adds to an already superb miniature. Another interesting feature is the twin and untwined crystals adjacent to one
another of 2.5 cm across, I cannot remember seeing this before. Early finds of Burmese spinel would be considered
scraps today, it was not until the early 1990's that top specimens became available. A worthy purchase!

S10416 - Titanite with Orthoclase - $175
Tormiq Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Overall Size: 2.8 x 2.1 cm
|
|
|
Two views of a very fine thumbnail. This Paki titanite sure does have great color and quality. Rarely can
the collector find sharp well exposed green crystals with bright luster attached to feldspars. All specimens
on this page were professionally collected resulting in damage free specimens. Crystal measures 2.1 cm.

S10417 - Hematite with Andradite - $1500 SOLD
N'Chwaning II Mine, Kuruman, South Africa
Overall Size: 5.2 x 3.5 cm
|
|
|
|
Predominately thin and often in flower-like fashion or "iron roses" can be the dominant habit for the
species as we hardly ever see this unique elongated growth which is still hexagonal given the six sides
of the main crystal, yet noticeably different in appearance. Merely a large well shaped prism reaching
3.5 cm from its reddish andradite garnet base. This one gets high marks for mineralogical appeal,
reminds me of pyromorphite. Competition quality with super luster, 5.2 x 3.5 cm. One of my
favorites on the page!

S10418 - Titanite with Orthoclase and Hematite - $375 SOLD
Tormiq Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Overall Size: 6 x 3 cm
|
|
|

A hands down steal! It is a complete floater from every side, perfect. Rarely does the collector find gem
quality monoclinic green crystals with bright luster amid sharply formed whitish feldspars. All specimens
on this page were professionally collected resulting in damage free specimens. The isolated crystal
stands 1.3 cm tall, beautiful alpine piece in person.

S10419 - Realgar inclusions in Calcite - $275
Shimen Mine, Hunan Province, China
Overall Size: 3.7 x 2 cm
|
|
Even though realgar and calcite were abundant from the Shimen mine during the last decade I have
seen fewer than a handful of included specimens. This one has striking red phantoms inside rimmed
by a yellowish shell of glassy faces and perfect termination. Excellent crystal to own, hard to find.

S10420 - Titanite with Calcite - $250
Tormiq Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan

Choice miniature of Paki titanite that sure does have great color. Rarely can the collector find razor
sharp monoclinic green crystals with sharp form next to colorless calcites. All specimens on this page
were professionally collected. In all a great buy at a fair price. Xl measures 1.6 cm in length.

S10421 - Pyrite with Calcite - $800 SOLD
Besial Mine, Shigar Valley, Pakistan
Overall Size: 8 x 6.5 cm
|
|
|
I am told this is from a new ruby mine in Pakistan, whether true or not it would be inconsequential in judging the rarity
of such a gigantic pyrite of 4.5 x 3.2 cm in size. It is ten times larger than anything I have seen from the country and
stands apart from the small crystals often frozen in matrix with minor ruby and green parisite. Brilliant golden patina
adds pretty highlights to faces against calcite of 8 x 6.5 cm in overall size. Only one piece was available.

S10422 - Galena with Sphalerite - $250
Grace Walker Mine, Picher, Oklahoma

Unusual oriented overgrowths attach to the main gray galena crystal of 3 x 2.8 cm in size, measures

Recently released from a local university collection where it had been hiding for decades. Simply a
premier locality for America, in fine condition.

S10423 - Pyrite - $165 SOLD
Huanzala Mine, Dos de Mayo Province, Peru
Overall Size: 6 x 5 cm

|
S10424 - Beryl (Var. Goshenite) on Elbaite - $325 SOLD
Shigar Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Overall Size: 3.2 x 2 cm
|
|
|
|
Elongated rich deep blue elbaite measuring 3.2 cm tall with the most glassy water-clear goshenite beryl
of 1.7 cm across that a person could ever imagine seeing. The razor sharp edges and hexagonal prism
project out from the frontal display face to show its 3 dimensional form very well. Classy gem crystal combo
that rarely forms in pockets.

S10425 - Siderite with Quartz - $380
Neudorf, Harz Mountains, Germany
Overall Size: 7.7 x 5.4 cm
|
|
|
|
The famous locality is known for Galena, yet exceptional siderite comes from Neudorf and is usually
simple rhombohedrons with curved or warped faces because of aggregation of many offset crystals
that show fairly smooth but seldom brilliant luster atop a classic looking white quartz druse. Individual
rhombs measure up to 1.7 cm long. Great old-timer worth admiring, 7.7 x 5.4 cm.

|
S10426 - Sugilite with Quartz - $110 SOLD
Wessels Mine, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Overall Size: 2 x 1.7 cm
|
|
As we all know it is one of the most common minerals around, but check out how attractive the ultra rare
purple sugilite is. Pleasing color, transparency, sharp edges and glassy faces all compose a very choice
thumbnail with no downside.

|
S10427 - Realgar and Orpiment inclusions in Calcite - $260 SOLD

Stunning color! Even though realgar and calcite were abundant from the Shimen mine during the last decade
I have seen fewer than a handful of included specimens. This one is filled with minute inclusions glowing from
within. Spectacular cluster to own, hard to find.
