S10351 - Vanadinite - $375 SOLD
Acif Mine, Anti Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Overall Size: 3.7 x 2.5 cm
The finest specimens come from Morocco as a secondary mineral in oxidized ore deposits containing
lead. Often tinged with brown this one exhibits pure red, for it is the color which attracts many collectors,
similar to the other popular species rhodochrosite. You can't go wrong with vanadinite!

S10352 - Hedenbergite - $875 SOLD
Broken Hill Mine, N.S.W., Australia
Overall Size: 5 x 2.7 cm
Gem hedenbergite! When comparing quality these manganese rich crystals must be at the top of the
list. Although larger groups of similarity come from the well-known locality in Sweden they often lack
transparency. Here we have an incredibly lustrous and gemmy miniature for sale, the kind of extra
lifelike sparkle rarely seen in the species, reason enough to purchase such a jewel I would think.
Measures 5 x 2.7 cm, xls up to 1.7 x 1.2 cm.

S10353 - Grossular with Diopside - $600 SOLD
Eden Mills, Lowell, Vermont
Overall Size: 5.8 x 3.6 cm
Wow, look at that color. This is the hands down deal of the page. Upon close inspection one can see
minor chipping around the dominant crystals of 0.8 cm across which is common from the area, but the
sharp, gemmy and intense orange grossulars is surely the trade-off of greater importance. Only a small
percentage of garnets are without overriding brown, for comparison another is further down the page.

S10354 - Quartz - $1500 SOLD
Middleville, Herkimer County, New York
Overall Size: 20 x 11.5 cm
Impressive two crystal "spray" measuring a whopping 12.3 cm. Just imagine how this aesthetically shaped
plate would stand out in a mineral room, with some additional backlighting to enhance the highly reflective
inner sections one could work wonders since it has large flawless areas, easy to see why they are called
herkimer diamonds. Nearly every matrix specimen is repaired from the celebrated area, not even noticeable
here, a very tight fit. These days large display pieces are increasingly difficult to secure of the type shown.
Truly remarkable for quartz.

S10355 - Grossular with Diopside - $350
Eden Mills, Lowell, Vermont
Overall Size: 4.8 x 3.3 cm
Not the strong orange above but equally transparent without tiny nicks. These gem nuggets of 0.7 cm
tall sit upon pleasing green diopside for striking results. I cannot imagine finding better quality for the
price as this one happens to be the exception. A classic U.S. locale.

S10356 - Dioptase after Calcite - $275 SOLD
Tantara Mine, Katanga, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Overall Size: 2.3 x 1.8 cm
For the most part we are use to seeing pseudomorphs as crude ugly specimens, yet stunning replacement
minerals do exist. Here is one such piece! Found in 1920 these dioptase after scalenohedral calcites never
come up for sale. Exquisite damage free thumbnail.

S10357 - Wulfenite - $700 SOLD
Mammoth St. Anthony Mine, Tiger, Arizona
Overall Size: 4.2 x 2.7 cm
An excellent and richly crystallized specimen along the ridge of matrix showing well exposed tabular squares
with truncated edges and water clear sections of 1.4 cm long. Vibrant orange wulfenites are highly prized and
eagerly sought by many collectors of Arizona localities, but the mineral from Tiger is historically important.
After mining for more than 100 years it is no surprise as to the desirability. Rare to find really fine pieces, this
one I recently bought from a well-known Arizona specialist, previous label included. In good condition.

S10358 - Romanechite - SOLD
Haiti Mine, La Union, Spain
Overall Size: 4.5 x 3.4 cm
A choice specimen of black manganese oxides coalesce into botryoidal stalactites of 4.5 cm long, for
the most part such elongation is rare with the common mineral. Complete on the backside as well, so
it can be displayed to your liking. 4.5 x 3.4 cm in size.

S10359 - Aurichalcite inclusions in Calcite - $400 SOLD
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Overall Size: 6.3 x 4.4 cm
Sky-blue acicular balls surround a single razor sharp aurichalcite included calcite rhomb of 1.6 x 1.3 cm
in overall size. Really good aurichalcite has not been found since the mid-1960's, and inclusions in calcite
are exceedingly rare to say the least. Seriously, they're nowhere to be found of the style above. No damage.

S10360 - Pyrite after Pyrrhotite with Sphalerite - $325 SOLD
Contessa Mine, Santa Eulalia, Mexico
Overall Size: 5.5 x 4 cm
Killer pseudomorph of brilliant and highly lustrous bronze-yellow pyrite crystals replacing tapered pyrrhotites
of 2.5 cm in length on this intermeshed group of 4.5 x 3.7 cm in size. Spectacular golden iridescence against
black sphalerite adds character, too. Interesting mineral specimen.

S10361 - Mimetite - $375 SOLD
San Pedro Corralitos, Chihuahua, Mexico
Overall Size: 6 x 4.5 cm
What a piece for the shelf with such strong yellow color! Very attractive satin-like groups gravitate in the
upper section of matrix as well. Generally known for its type of growth, this find is considered most sought
after for the colorful botryoidal clusters. A classic Mexican mineral that is unique for sure, in good condition.

S10362 - Corundum (Var. Ruby) - $300 SOLD
Hartz Range, Northern Territory, Australia
Overall Size: 8.5 x 5.3 cm
Ideal cross section of the hexagonal prism illustrating the distinctive ruby-red outline immersed in rock.
Australian rubies tend to be loose crystals whereas matrix specimens seldom come up for sale. Do
you love the variety exhibited by corundum from different localities? Well, here is your chance to acquire
a very fine and important piece.

S10363 - Sphalerite with Calcite and Pyrite - $275 SOLD
Trepca Mine, Stari Trg Village, Kosovo
Overall Size: 6.5 x 5 cm
Wonderfully exposed iron rich black sphalerite of 2.5 cm across sits attractively with several minerals that
include: calcite, arsenopyrite and likely creamy white rhodochrosite. These species attest to the origin of
the world famous Trepca locality that has been mined for centuries. Excellent balance as a whole.

S10364 - Azurite and Malachite after Selenite - $585 SOLD
Apex Mine, St. George, Utah
Overall Size: 6.2 x 1.2 cm
Very unique for several reasons. As we know average malachite after azurite pseudomorphs aren't super
rare while any species replacing crystallized gypsum/selenite is almost unheard-of by even seasoned
veterans and desirable on that account. It also is hollow inside which is certainly peculiar for a pseudo
along with sharp blue and green zones that form additional traits. All in all a classic American treasure.

S10365 - Quartz - $135 SOLD
Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 4.2 x 3.5 cm
Phantoms can be a fascinating collectible with quartz providing some of the best examples. Shown
above are clay inclusions enveloped by extremely glassy and clear doubly terminated prisms. Delightfully
arranged without damage.
