S9608 - Brazilianite with Albite - $425
Corrego Frio Mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 2.7 x 2.4 cm
|
|
|
Not only does this brazilianite have wonderful aesthetic morphology, but the two main damage free crystals
project out in equal length for incredible balance. Longest one measures 2.3 cm. Hard to capture in a photo
although I assure you this phosphate is glassy and transparent if not almost entirely flawless in person. Its
label states acquisition in 1970, older piece for sure, but just now being released from a European collection.

S9609 - Beryl (Var. Aquamarine) - $3800
Pedra Azul, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 7 x 4 cm
|
|
|
|
Seen here is a true aquamarine crystal of intense blue from top to bottom without any of the common green or
yellow overtones making this the real deal! Think about the many beryls that have come from Brazil even with
the small handful of spectacular finds most are paler in color, very very few show the ice-blue saturation. Inner
section is completely gemmy. The recognizable characteristics of rich hue and sculptural etching set them apart
in the world of aquas after all the famous "Ice Dragon" came from this same exact pocket, you too could
own the smaller version of a celebrated specimen at only a fraction of the price. A worthy purchase!

S9610 - Calcite (stalactite) with Pyrrhotite - $400 SOLD
Trepca Mine, Stari Trg Village, Kosovo
Overall Size: 13.5 x 4.3 cm
|
|
|
From the historical locality comes this impressive stalactite that reaches over 5 inches tall, a real whopper!
Some sulfides and calcites have grown in the upper portion, yet tiny calcite or creamy white rhodochrosite
make-up its stout length, I haven't tested it. Certain specimens are rare today regardless of centuries of mining
in the area such as this older piece which has been hiding for decades. In good condition.

S9612 - Wulfenite with Calcite - $375
Ahumada Mine, Los Lamentos District, Chihuahua, Mexico
Overall Size: 3.8 x 2.7 cm
|
|
|
|
Pristine, colorful and gemmy isolated orange wulfenite of 2.1 cm across sits upright on pretty matrix, in this case
the limonite is quite attractive considering the minute dusting of very lustrous calcites from end to end, hard to
see in the images, but it sparkles like crazy. Many examples have been available over the years, yet few exhibit
transparency. Superfine small miniature, no damage.

Everyone familiar with Himalaya pieces knows the strong rich color zoning seen in some crystals, this

Unbelievable display piece! As you can see these numerous gemmy tapered brownish orange crystals spray
outward from the small base in an incredible fan-like shape. In addition to the jumbo celestines which reach up
to 11.3 x 1 cm in size, we have sharp steeply terminated prisms. All in all the collector can be certain that it is

|
|
|
Super glassy faces exhibiting a smooth surface texture only seen in a small percent of vanadium rich crystals.
Maybe perceived as small it is quite large for Tanzania and hard to capture the 3 dimensionality in a photo.
A must see in order to be fully appreciated. Some veterans I showed it to were in awe!

Now that is a good looking bi-colored tourmaline! This type of color-zoning has only a handful of
rival localities with each mine merely different and not necessarily better. As shown the crystal is
of gem quality without damage on the termination. Of limited supply as few worldwide finds have
been made of this caliber, neat growth of lilac mica for added appeal!
