S9173 - Aegirine - $850 SOLD
Mt. Malosa, Zomba District, Malawi
Overall Size: 9.2 x 5.3 cm
Outlandish crystal form! The greater part of these show blunt or rugged terminations without luster instead
of long tapered prisms measuring a maximum length of 3 cm. In excellent condition, only one break seen
in the top left of lower photo, easy to nip off if you wish. I cannot recommend this one enough, probably
because the aegirine is sitting in front of me with a myriad of crystals exhibiting depth as a cluster
and not in an image. Measures: 9.2 x 5.3 cm.

S9174 - Topaz with Calcite - $9500
Ghundao Hill, Mardan District, Pakistan
Overall Size: 4.3 x 3.5 cm
Nearly nonexistent light pink topaz was found in such minimal amounts that good pieces never even became
available at shows. Although pastel you cannot expect to find a richly colored one of size without selling
your house to pay for it! Termination, luster and balance are perfect, xl is 1.6 x 1 cm. Another positive thing
with this piece is the transparency, we have all seen the internally cracked imperial topaz from Brazil; likewise,
a lot of these crystals have mimicking faults. Hard to outclass specimens from Ghundao hill, not to mention
unavailable with matrix. Superb for the gem crystal collector, no damage.

S9177 - Spessartine with Microcline - $375 SOLD
Shengus, Skardu District, Pakistan
Overall Size: 5 x 3.3 cm
In hand this isolated spessartine garnet stands out in relief quite well reaching 2 cm in height atop white
microcline matrix of 5 x 3.3 cm in size, miniature selected from hundreds at the time of discovery
illustrating the good taste of the previous owner. A rich wine-red crystal!

S9178 - Andradite (Var. Demantoid) - $5000 SOLD
Val Malenco, Lombardy, Italy
Overall Size: 11.2 x 7 cm
Super gemmy and glassy rich deep green crystals up to about 1 cm in length sit near the midsection of
matrix that measures 11.2 x 7 cm in overall size as well as from the world famous deposit for demantoid.
Specimen is quite nice considering production stopped long ago with old pieces remaining collectible and
rare even in Italy! Most of the better material was found during the early 1950's, so it is safe to say this
variety of andradite will always be desirable in the future while only a small handful of places ever have
produced good examples of the species. What I particularly appreciate about the piece is the protruding
central crystal, that is it's not "smashed" into the rodingite matrix. Seriously, this champion garnet is one of
the finest for sale and a smart place to park your money since showy rarities are great buys!

S9180 - Elbaite with Albite - $2800 SOLD
Paprok, Kunar Province, Afghanistan
Overall Size: 4.7 x 4.3 x 3.5 cm
Spectacular bicolored tourmaline! This is as pretty of a pink and green as you will see from Paprok.
Countless finds of various colors come from the famous area, but this strong gradation stands apart
along with white albite matrix for added contrast. In part elbaites of the same appearance have made
the mineral overwhelmingly popular. If you like pegmatitic type species you will probably love this one,
amazing coloration and terminations.

S9175 - Fluorite with Quartz - $1500 SOLD
Ruyuan Fluorite Mine, Guangdong Province, China
Overall Size: 13.7 x 7.1 cm
Splendid cabinet piece, large and shapely rich blue-green octahedron of 7.5 cm on edge positioned
on whitish quartz reaching over 5 inches. The quality and availability of specimens now on the market
are not very appealing; however, the wonderful example here still remains significant and displays
well as shown from all angles with a 3 dimensional sculptural look.

Resplendent mirror smooth faces form a bipyramidal anatase of 0.8 cm in length on the far left of matrix,

well other ways too. Famous find several years ago from within Norway. Measurements are 4.7 x 3.4 cm

S9182 - Epidote - $600 SOLD
Shigar Valley, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Overall Size: 10.5 x 2.6 cm
We call this one the epidote gun. The shape is identical to the real thing! Beautiful pistachio-green crystal
of translucent to transparent inner sections as well as completely terminated from every angle. All in all
unique to find such an oddity!

S9183 - Quartz (Var. Amethyst) - $700 SOLD
Rio Grande do Sul, Southeast Region, Brazil
Overall Size: 17 x 10 cm
Attractive Brazilian "rabbit ears" amethyst having a good 11 cm wingspan, wow! Just imagine how this
"V" shaped spray would standout in a mineral room, with some additional backlighting to enhance the
lovely purple color one could work wonders. In spite of being fairly widespread, balanced pieces are
difficult to secure of the type shown above. Truly remarkable for the variety of quartz, in good condition.

S9184 - Epidote - $1250 SOLD
Miracle Mountain Mine, Calaveras County, California

Premier California epidote locality, not of Knappenwand quality, but nonetheless a fine crystal. Prism

each end. Three photos should help conjure a 3 dimensional image of the in hand piece, front, back
and side angles are shown. No matrix specimens were ever found, notable size as well.
