S12758 - Quartz with Dioptase inclusions - $800 SOLD
Omaue Mine, Kaokoveld, Namibia
Overall Size: 5.3 x 4.4 cm
WOW, this myriad of dioptase inclusions has filled this quartz to the point where the crystal GLOWS an incredible
lush green in person, just like the photos, so much infiltration has taken place that it is on the brink of being too showy,
at first glance the resulting reaction is utter disbelief by those who have seen it! Really a phenomenal piece of
amplified display presence.

S12759 - Cuprite with Copper - $2600 SOLD
Rubtsovskiy Mine, Altaiskiy Krai, Western-Siberian Region, Russia
Overall Size: 5.4 x 3.7 cm
In mineral environments, cuprite and copper rarely occur together in splendid examples, and this 2.5 cm razor sharp
cluster anchored to well crystallized copper is right at the pinnacle of crystallization and aesthetics for the two as a unit.
Many were CROOKED from side to side, largely losing any appealing shape copper can give, a rarity for the species,
AND that is why this outstanding pair, held back until now by Russian collectors, is regarded as one of the foremost
combos. Some of the most interesting contemporary material to come out in recent years and a relative bargain!

S12760 - Ilmenite - $700 SOLD
Tormiq Valley, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan
Overall Size: 7.1 x 3.2 cm
Satisfaction guaranteed! Superb quality is one of the truly great things about this specimen and the 2.7 cm rose
sits exceptionally well on orthoclase matrix, both of which show pristine and undamaged faces. Luster and
contrasting matrix have made these ilmenites from the alpine clefts in this valley some of the nicest around.

S12764 - Red Beryl - $2300
Violet Claims, Wah Wah Mountains, Beaver Co., Utah
Overall Size: 8.5 x 5.5 cm
The only leading locality and most celebrated deposit for red beryl is located in the eastern flank of the Wah Wah
mountains in Utah where fresh plump ripe looking beryls occur in eye-popping RED, even more astonishing is the fact
that superb crystals do not exist anywhere else whereas other varieties of beryl, such as aquamarine and morganite
do. This puzzling fact greatly adds to their overall desirability and value. Out of two claims at the deposit, the cream
came from deep excavations in the lower pit and an excellent example is shown above in hard rhyolite matrix.
VERY VERY gemmy in person, no repair.

S12765 - Topaz with Quartz - $295
Schneckenstein, Saxony, Germany
Overall Size: 6.6 x 5 cm
Mention Schneckenstein to any knowledgeable collector and visions of yellow topaz come to mind. The locality has
been a classic European symbol for the mineral for hundreds of years. This flawless crystal measures 1.6 cm and
sits well with sharp transparent needles of quartz.

S12766 - Andradite with Diopside - $425 SOLD
Marki Khel, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan
Overall Size: 6.5 x 3.5 cm
A dynamite small cabinet specimen. Andradite from here is coveted for its pristine quality in sharp crystals. As
important as that is, it needs more to make the garnet spectacular in this size range, and that would be a HIGHLY
EXPOSED 1.8 cm crystal practically bursting from oily-green matrix. Very apparent in person. No damage.

S12768 - Vesuvianite with Clinochlore - $6200 SOLD
Bellecombe, Aosta Valley, Italy
Overall Size: 5 x 4.6 cm
The pursuit of fine large Italian vesuvianites on matrix has never been easy to find since truly exceptional specimens
are elusive in private collections and on the current mineral market, so it is a pleasure to see such a long crystal of 4.1
cm sitting cockeyed on bluish clinochlore. Few major localities for the mineral. Unlike other vesuvianite/garnet spots
in valleys next door to Bellecombe, its discovery wasn't until the early 1970s, unfortunately it is now a national park.
However, the area is now included on a short list of major localities for the mineral and shares a reputation
for producing world-class specimens. No repair or damage.

S12769 - Columbite-(Fe) - $2500
Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 5.5 x 4.7 cm
This shiny submetallic columbite comes from gem-bearing pegmatites in Minas Gerais, Brazil of which I do not know
the exact mine as too much time has passed since Dave Wilber dated this label when he worked for Ron Romanella,
owner of Commercial Mineral Corp. The crystal itself is compressed into an, for lack of better term "aesthetic mohawk",
admittedly quite a pleasing shape in person.

S12770 - Copper with Calcite - $500 SOLD
Phoenix Mine, Keweenaw Co., Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan
Overall Size: 6 x 3 cm
Remarkably good copper with two very appealing features, for one the well formed crystal of 2 cm is sharp and for
another the superimposed sky-blue alteration livens the piece. I'm guessing the chemistry must play a role in this
penny-like patina from mine to mine as only some Michigan coppers have it.

S12771 - Pyrite with Graphite - $375 SOLD
Merelani Hills, Arusha Region, Tanzania
Overall Size: 3.5 x 3 cm
In recent years some of the largest crystals of pyrite ever to have come from underground workings made their way
to the market, although fine, many were severely damaged in the worst possible place. This high quality crystal is not
only free of damage on all sides but sits on graphite rich matrix, a rarity!

S12772 - Calcite with Dioptase - $265 SOLD
Tantara Mine, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Overall Size: 3.4 x 2.5 cm
Calcite lovers take note of this undamaged translucent "snowball" plopped directly on top of dark green gemmy
dioptase that add riveting highlights. The piece is also well crystallized from front or back.

S12773 - Axinite-(Fe) - $225
Puiva Deposit, Subpolar Urals, Tyumenskaya Oblast, Russia
Overall Size: 3.3 x 3 cm
Two smaller babies of axinite measuring 2.4 cm in length cling nicely to the mother crystal. An extraordinary alpine
cleft deposit for the mineral and in terms of quality and size. This aesthetic piece is a tad on the smallish
side but still a very good thing.

S12774 - Andradite (Var. Demantoid) - $480 SOLD
Antetezambato, Ambanja District, Antsiranana Province, Madagascar
Overall Size: 7 x 4.8 cm
These demantoids range from green to yellow green to brown and exhibit strong color change depending on light.
This perfect damage free cluster of 2.2 cm consists of a marvelous green and exceptional brilliancy, literally
matching the dispersion level of only the finest gems, giving off a DIAMONDLIKE luster in person. 7 x 4.8 cm

S12776 - Columbite-(Fe) - $450
Phillip's Mine, Spruce Pine, Mitchell Co., North Carolina
Overall Size: 3.3 x 2.8 x 2 cm
Perhaps 50 years old by now judging by Don Boydston's catalog number and locality info written on the bottom of
the specimen as he was an obsessive collector from 1941 to 1968, building one of the finest collections in the
U.S. during this time. This crystal making its way back from the initial sale.

S12778 - Realgar - $175 SOLD
Getchell Mine, Potosi District, Humboldt Co., Nevada
Overall Size: 4 x 3.2 cm
An important American realgar locality. This fire engine-red cluster has bright flashes of siren-red light coming
from within its partially gemmy prisms. Showy and still stable after all these years!
