S12840 - Chrysoberyl - $11000 SOLD
Teixeira de Freitas, Bahia, Brazil
Overall Size: 4.6 x 2.1 cm
Chrysoberyls from Brazil are not known for their beauty, even the marvelous and shockingly good sixlings found by Allan
Caplan in 1940. They pretty much have everything a gem crystal collector could want except flaming color. The other
type I'm holding here was found in superb elongated twins that came from another exceptional find in the state of
Bahia. This top-of-the-line "V"-shaped group is without contact points or abrasion, but instead naturally faceted into
a series of stepped faces at midpoint representing a MUCH more gemmier and aesthetically formed cluster than
normal. The lustrous coffee-brown body glows from under its gem skin and is music to the eyes. In order to illustrate
this point we inserted two quality photos of each side. Exceptional chrysoberyls were and still are difficult to find.
This, well-known specimen, disappeared from the collector community until a friend of mine tracked it down.
It ranks quite high for the species. No damage.

S12841 - Beryl (Var. Heliodor) - $3750 SOLD
Catuji, Mucuri Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 8.5 x 1 cm
EXQUISITE golden heliodor, flawless and gemmy as could be in person! Not even the slightest sign of any inner defects

S12845 - Fluorapatite with Schorl and Albite - $2600 SOLD
Golconda Mine, Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 6.3 x 6 cm
A dynamite small cabinet matrix specimen from recent production. This nicely mounted GEM fluorapatite is quite an
eyeful of beauty. Rarely do crystals from here come in pleasing shades of pink as opposed to the dark blue. As
important as that is, it needs more to make the piece a to-die-for rock, and that would be the beyond average glassy
faces and virtually flawless 2.3 cm jewel placed at top. Exceptional clarity so much so you can read newspaper
through it! No damage.

S12846 - Spessartine with Schorl and Albite - $10000 SOLD
Hercules Dike, Little Three Mine, Ramona District, San Diego Co., California
Overall Size: 7.1 x 5 cm
The Little Three mine was named after the partnership of the original three owners. This mine and nearby Hercules
dike have provided what many collectors consider to be the best matrix spessartine. No other locality in the
world quite matches the look of these gem orange fireballs plopped on handsome white clevelandite and schorl.
This large 3.3 x 3 cm garnet has almost no corrosion and is near end-member composition, such bright pure crystals
remain relatively rare. Louis Spaulding Jr. mined this piece during the mid 1970s, from there it was taken out of the
U.S. and sold to a private collector in Europe who prefers anonymity where it has been hiding ever since, perhaps
some 35 years! I will however release the name to the buyer. The price is net.

Tight fitting 2.5 cm crystal against striking ink-black taramite. If partial to matrix then this new batch is by far the best
possible solution for worldwide chrysoberyl attached to rock, and it is safe to say, other showy matrix specimens
remain miniscule in number and probably do not exist at all. PLUS, this 7.2 x 3.7 cm piece is extremely colorful.
In pristine condition.

North Mine, Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
Overall Size: 7 x 4.2 cm

Very good cavity lining of blocky oily-green johannsenite and cherry-red spessartine. When occurring together they

S12858 - Andradite - $465
Diakon, Kayes Region, Mali
Overall Size: 6.6 x 4.7 cm
This large dodecahedral chocolate-brown andradite to 4.7 x 4.2 cm is particularly pleasing for Mali garnet. They poured
out of the country at intervals and occur in a wide range of hues; however, the majority of these were displaying ugly
off green hues at the time of production, opposite of this sharp-edged crystal. Very fine in person.

S12859 - Elbaite with Quartz - $1650
Cruzeiro Mine, Sao Jose da Safira, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 8 x 4.1 x 3 cm
Tourmalines that match emeralds of the finest hues available have always been desirable, with some of the very
best coming from the Cruzeiro mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This electric green crystal is good enough to make
anyone drool! In typical fashion from here, their transparency and chiseled position in sharp quartz only amplify
the color. The QUALITY of both species is well above the average. A must see for the matrix gem crystal
collector, elbaite measures 3.5 cm across.

At first glance you cannot help but gawk at beautiful rainbow patina highlighting this extremely well formed descloizite.
Easily the finest material came from early mining in the Grootfontein area in splendid dark brown to reddish

a floater in fact.
