Absolutely stunning rhodo from Mexico! How often do you see one this good? Hardly ever! The very well
exposed gemmy red to pink crystal of 1.6 cm across sits in the upper portion of matrix measuring 5.7 x 3.2
cm in overall size. You would think the army-green surface would be ugly, but with this color combo it is
killer! Some bright galena xls are scattered about for added appeal. Isolation, balance, color, rarity and
quality make this one a top level piece for the country. Hard to beat!

S7634 - Strunzite - $1000
Hagendorf, Bavaria, Germany
Overall Size: 8.3 x 6 cm
|
|
|
Now here is a good rock for the species! Plenty of acicular pale yellow crystals reaching 1.2 cm in length are
to numerous to count within this brown matrix of 8.3 x 6 cm in overall size. When examples become available
xls seem to be smaller and in patchy growth. These are equally abundant on the backside. Exceptional for the
manganese iron phosphate that is found in a pegmatite, an unexpected environment for such a mineral. I have
not seen a richer specimen for sale on the market, a must see.

When in association specimens from this area seem to have a large magnetite with a small peridot or vice

magnetite of 2.5 cm in length has grown on the back part of the peridot's termination forming a composite
of 3.2 x 2.7 cm in size. From all angles it has a 3 dimensional depth in person, the kind of sculpture effect
suitable for competition in the thumbnail/toenail size range, exquisite!

S7641 - Fluorite with Quartz - $275 SOLD
Yaogangxian Mine, Hunan Province, China
Overall Size: 10.2 x 7 cm
|
|
These days I try to stay away from this mine because of the mass supply available; however, the light
and dark purple color on this fluorite with the doubly terminated quartz of 7.5 cm in length was to
much of a tease. For the cabinet, it's showy without leaving you broke, a worthwhile pick.
