S12960 - Gold - $3000 SOLD
Round Mountain Mine, Round Mountain District, Nye Co., Nevada
Overall Size: 6 x 3.1 cm
At times obscure out-of-the-way localities produce some of the nicest specimens of the species around, that is what
happened at the Round Mountain mine in Nevada when miners started to uncover beautiful crystallized gold in 2005.
The finest from the state and almost equivalent to any from the famed gold mines next door in California, which collectors
admire so much. Accurate photos and not overdone as they are just that GOOD. Weighs 7 grams. A must see!

S12962 - Silver - $28500 SOLD
Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway
Overall Size: 6.4 x 2.8 cm
Easily one of the finest small cabinet specimens offered in recent years from the historic mining region. Silver from the
Kongsberg mines comes in different styles, but it is the legendary wires in elegant form that command premium prices.
This awing silver twists from end to end as few do making the piece extremely aesthetic in a modern sense of the word,
forming a wonderful "S" shape; however, in terms of rarity, I place strong emphasis on its thickness of 1.4 cm if taking into
consideration the girth is often that of a shoelace. The two dominant features of sculptural appeal and mammoth width are
key to its world-class status. Such treasures have been a classic mineralogical collectible for centuries and with over 300
years since the initial discovery we can be quite certain of the limitations, after all no significant pieces have been
recovered in a VERY LONG time. Absolutely SUPERB mineral to own.

S12963 - Rhodochrosite with Quartz - $6500 SOLD
Sweet Home Mine, Alma District, Park Co., Colorado
Overall Size: 6.7 x 5 cm
An eyeful of gorgeous rhodochrosite forming a HEART from one of perhaps two top deposits known to produce
spectacular examples, officially being named as the state mineral in 2002. Such display level specimens come from only
a few places on earth, and for the most part some of the most attractive come from the Sweet Home mine, near
Alma, Colorado. This splendid arrangement is from the world renowned Hedgehog pocket, now largely unavailable and
increasingly sought after. The legendary series of finds, someday, will eclipse all but a few hard-to-get pockets of truly
noteworthy material. This very pretty rhodo is a sound investment.

S12964 - Beryl with Muscovite - $3800
Padre Paraiso, Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
Overall Size: 7.5 x 3.5 x 2.6 cm
Several styles of beryl come from numerous districts in this part of the world. This shade of green is not only rare in the
beryllium rich pegmatites in and around northern Brazil, but surprisingly elusive worldwide for some reason as well.
Otherwise, this single crystal exhibits glassy and entirely transparent sections that reflect back hexagonal growth
patterns from prism walls. Pristine and without damage!

S12970 - Stibnite - $1150
Ichinokawa Mine, Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku Island, Japan
Overall Size: 7.2 x 2 cm
The supreme stibnite locality was the Ichinokawa deposit on the island of Shikoku, Japan where groups of magnificent
prismatic crystals were found in cavities. Today the best of Chinese material is probably better, interesting to note
though as this prism is in fact Japanese due to its provenance, the Don Boydston collection, but also its slanted
termination coming to a near point, which is one of the few clues to validate them. In good condition.

S12971 - Elbaite with Quartz - $1200 SOLD
Paprok, Kunar Province, Afghanistan
Overall Size: 3.7 x 3.2 cm
Reminiscent of Elba elbaite, black capped crystals from this find have striking similarity to some of the famous Italian
"Moor's Head" associated with the small island. This flawless 2.5 cm prism has a 100% damage free termination and
JUICY pomegranate-red tint to it, such grasping color and quality make the piece one of the most attractive tourmalines
I have ever seen! Props up nicely from glassy quartz too.

S12972 - Datolite - $400
Bor Pit, Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russia
Overall Size: 5.4 x 4.1 cm
I'm told the world's largest and finest came from this locality where they were instantly regarded as some of the most
beautiful crystals ever found. This 3.3 x 3.2 cm datolite features an uncharacteristic blue- green zone making
the piece very pretty. No damage.

S12973 - Quartz (Var. Amethyst) with Hematite inclusions - $475
Diamond Willow Mine, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada
Overall Size: 9.8 x 7.5 cm
Incredibly lustrous, deepest red-maroon quartz full of specular hematite inclusions, such as this one, remain quite
different in appearance after years of mining with no other worldwide quartz locality producing exact duplicates.
Crystals measure up to 3.5 cm long. Overall size: 9.8 x 7.5 cm.
S12974 - Quartz (Var. Amethyst) - $200
Spruce Claim, Goldmyer Hot Springs, King Co., Washington
Overall Size: 5 x 3 cm
A notable deposit for crystal clear amethyst. These sharp and not just transparent but flawless scepter heads display
well from either side in fan-like cluster form. Pristine naturally faceted jewels on matrix!
S12975 - Ajoite with Hematite inclusions in Quartz - $250
Messina Mine, Limpopo Province, South Africa
Overall Size: 5.3 x 3 cm
Surprisingly rare to see inclusions of bronze-red hematite and sky-blue ajoite in the same crystal from this well-known
mine. It could be considered a highly desirable part of any quartz collection and for the type of inclusions,
particularly ajoite, are the most select to date.
S12976 - Rutile inclusions in Quartz - $400
Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil
Overall Size: 3.3 x 2.2 cm
There is nothing quite like transparent quartz filled with distinct needles of rutile. Literally tons of yellow inclusions have
been mined from Novo Horizonte for the lapidary trade whereas Diamantina produced only a few isolated pockets
of the much rarer reddish sprays. Such inclusions of rutilated quartz trapped inside make spectacular mineral
specimens. No damage.
S12977 - Spodumene (Var. Kunzite ) with Quartz - $2700
Mawi Pegmatite, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan
Overall Size: 7.3 x 5.7 cm
An exceptional group of kunzite crystals on matrix, with quartz and albite, and in good deep purple color. It is in great
condition all the way around including the sharp swordlike terminations. In the past matrix kunzite was practically
unheard-of until gem quality crystals attached to rock started to appear in the mid 1970s and in the decades since
these well formed pink spodumenes seem to keep getting better and better with time. This pleasant cluster
makes that point!
S12978 - Microcline (Var. Amazonite) - $750 SOLD
Pikes Peak Region, Teller Co., Colorado
Overall Size: 4.4 x 3 cm
Completely inaccessible to field collectors in winter due to snowpack, which in turn cuts down on the time required to find
these wonderful amazonites and only limits distribution from this leading locality and perhaps most celebrated spot for
this variety of microcline. The incredible blue is truly an eyeopener, but even more astonishing is the fact that this crystal
is entirely free of damage, which is a small miracle for a highly cleavable and often repaired mineral. Especially fine
examples came from granitic pegmatites in this area.

S12980 - Tantalite-(Mn) - $1300
Alto das Furnas Pegmatite, Equador, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil
Overall Size: 2.6 x 2.5 cm
An attractive Tantalite is always difficult to get to some measure and why this twinned crystal with red highlights stand
apart from more normal black ones. They were recovered from two new (at the time) pegmatites near Alto
do Giz, Equador, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. Overall I think this is an excellent thumbnail for the species, really!

S12981 - Arsenopyrite with Quartz - $350
Panasqueira Mine, Barroca Grande, Portugal
Overall Size: 7 x 4 cm
Arsenopyrite from this European locale have always been in demand. Each nickel bright isolated crystal sits on the far
edge of glassy high quality quartz. The striking luster in person is worth pointing out. A classic!
