Outstanding copper-rich smithsonite for the find. Every pocket from the well-known mine seems to be distinctive

S9616 - Cerussite - $350
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Namibia
Overall Size: 4.2 x 2.3 cm
|
|
|
One of my favorites on the page because of the glass-like gem quality encompassing the interesting
smoky interior, unreal clarity! Usually cerussites are severely damaged, so it is a small miracle to find
one in near pristine condition, not to mention the majority of the base is crystallized. Faces also show
bright reflective luster when rotated in hand.

dimensionality from all angles.

Several minerals grouped together of varying rarity. Copper-rich smithsonite coating tennantite is of most import

cm across rest amid thickly crystallized dolomite and quartz matrix. Good one for the Tsumeb junkie.

Tsumeb! Some of the wulfenites have this neat butterscotch hue as well as wide bevelled edges, uniquely
different as such minerals are the norm from here, main crystal is 1.5 cm tall. Very classy with quartz too.
For the two stated qualities along with infinite reasons why it's safe to assume specimens will remain
valuable from this justifiably famous mine!
