S11342 - Creedite - $480 SOLD
Potosi Mine, Santa Eulalia District, Chihuahua, Mexico
Overall Size: 3.4 x 2.4 cm
From the bottom photo this attractive spray measures 1.7 cm wide with a depth inward of nearly 2 cm, resulting
in a very 3 dimensional piece. In addition to its aesthetic shape, this small miniature isn't pale in color but strong
purple, for these were first brought out of Mexico in the mid 1980's and some have lost intensity over time, which
doesn't have to be the case if kept out of strong light as shown above. Currently, these remain on a small list of
leading localities for the species. Gemmy with a high level of luster in person, damage free, excellent
example to own!

S11343 - Corundum (Var. Ruby) - $1450
Winza, Dodoma Region, Tanzania
Overall Size: 6.2 x 4.4 cm
Exciting finds of spectacular corundum specimens coming out of Africa made international news a few years ago
in both the gemstone and mineral markets, if not for high quality (which they have) then for a distinguished mix of
sapphire blue and ruby red often in the same crystal! This enchanting combination gave some rubies the ever so
slight hint of purple within its prism walls, making such colored pieces highly sought after. In fact we have that perfect
blend illustrated right here. This 1.5 cm crystal held back by a Tanzanian specialist who stated to me "it is one of the
best", and he would know considering the time spent in the country!

S11344 - Zoisite (Var. Tanzanite) with Calcite - $16500 SOLD
Merelani Hills, Arusha, Tanzania
Overall Size: 6.4 x 4.3 cm
Right off the bat two conspicuous features grab my attention as unique or impressive. Obviously the complete
and well formed snow-white calcite sitting next to zoisite is incredibly unusual, for cleaved sections represent
the majority of matrix and even that is barely obtainable. What is shocking is the relatively large crystal of tanzanite
proudly standing at a respectable 5.2 cm tall, which goes beyond the average for matrix examples. I have seen larger,
but this one isn't in the stratosphere price range and to be honest they weren't all that pretty if comparing anything
over six figures. It is a small miracle this combo made it out of underground workings without damage and some
accessory minerals, given the reckless nature of miners whose sole purpose is to remove gem rough. As rumors
circulate (whether true or not) that the life span of the famous locality could be coming to an end within the next few
years it reminds me of them saying the same thing about benitoite, and now it is almost entirely reclaimed. Superb
matrix gem crystal that you cannot afford to pass on!

S11346 - Quartz (Var. Amethyst) on Quartz - $8200
Ahmadnagar District, Maharashtra, India
Overall Size: 14.7 x 11 cm
Yes, plain quartz is common, but every now and again one absolutely unique piece becomes available for sale.
These gemmy purple sprays aesthetically placed on an unforgettable zebra striped pattern of black and dark
brown is unlike any amethyst combo I have ever seen! That isn't all though, upon close examination we can see
another generation of hundreds of minute quartzes casting back incoming light to such a degree one could swear
it had reflective properties of a disco ball, and that is an accurate statement. You have got to see this thing in
person! How often does something this distinguished surface from any world wide quartz locality? Astonishingly
difficult to acquire and probably not another carbon copy is in existence. 14.7 x 11 cm, clusters up to 2.5 cm.

S11347 - Quartz (Var. Amethyst) - $375
Ahmadnagar District, Maharashtra, India
Overall Size: 4.2 x 4.1 cm
Nice glassy cluster of the typical style found at this Indian locality. Can be displayed from either side

S11350 - Pyrite after Pyrrhotite - $425
Huanzala Mine, Dos de Mayo Province, Peru
Overall Size: 7.2 x 5.5 cm
Blinding mirror bright pseudos up to 3 cm long sit up on a well proportioned contrasting matrix of 7.2 x 5.5 cm
in overall size. A great deal better than the photo indicates, for one it has substantial depth from every display
face, and for another the crystals are a darker shade of yellow in person.

S11351 - Hubnerite with Fluorite and Quartz - $1400
Mundo Nuevo, La Libertad Department, Peru
Overall Size: 11.3 x 7.5 cm
From the new find, here we have an all-in-one specimen, that is it has pink and green fluorite with hubnerite. Such
examples were rare. This particular combination goes way beyond the average, for its bicolor represents only a
small percentage of the pocket, but of greater importance had to be finding one without severe damage. This lightly
etched group is complete from every angle, a total floater! On top of everything else, the 3.2 x 1 cm thick opaque
red single projects straight out of the termination! Mineralogically unbelievable cabinet piece!

S11352 - Pyrite after Barite - $1200
Huanzala Mine, Dos de Mayo Province, Peru
Overall Size: 17 x 10.5 cm
Absolutely terrific pseudomorph! Unquestionably a mesmerizing rock, the kind that makes you think, plus I
could see pseudomorph collectors thinking quite highly of this piece. Some rounded blades extend to 6 cm
across. After talking to some knowledgeable people who specialize in Peruvian minerals, yet without certainty,
they are of the opinion that it is a new zone of pseudomorphs or a freak piece, only one they have seen from
here. In any case, nearly damage free except one vertically aligned bottom crystal, but it can be trimmed
away. Shockingly golden yellow, bright, 3 dimensional large plate in person, a must see!

Two unusual lustrous pyrite after pyrite crystals up to 1.8 cm in length sit with another partially replaced

S11354 - Spangolite - $300
Mex-Tex Mine, Hansonburg District, New Mexico
Overall Size: 6.4 x 5 cm
Luscious electric-blue microcrystals of spangolite as opposed to the typically seen greenish ones. Ample
coverage nearly fills this slightly indented pocket wall rock. Named after Norman Spang who was once
a prominent U.S. collector. Fine mineral to own.

S11355 - Spangolite - $210
Mex-Tex Mine, Hansonburg District, New Mexico
Overall Size: 5.5 x 4.2 cm
Choice mixture of microcrystals line the top ridge of this light brown matrix. Minor acicular green brochantite
sprays grew alongside the main mineral of interest, which are these countless rich blue spangolites.

S11362 - Spangolite - $400
Mex-Tex Mine, Hansonburg District, New Mexico
Overall Size: 5.5 x 3.8 cm
Exceptional spangolites have always been rare, and these beauties can be seen with the naked eye! Despite
three others listed on the page, here we have several gemmy intense blue crystals, hexagonal in aspect and
far from mediocre for the species! As well as littered amid slender green brochantites and barite matrix.

S11364 - Spangolite - $275 SOLD
Mex-Tex Mine, Hansonburg District, New Mexico
Overall Size: 8.3 x 4 cm
Very good rich blue to green microcrystalline coverage placed upon a towering 8.3 cm tall matrix. Handsome
small cabinet that occurs as a secondary mineral in the oxidized zone of copper-bearing ore deposits.
S11365 - Sulphohalite - $600
Searles Lake, Trona, California
Overall Size: 3.7 x 3 cm
Fine large crystals of sulphohalite are considered to be about 1 inch in size, so this surpasses the perceived
maximum length by a full 1.2 cm. In addition to sharp octahedral form, which is common, the piece is free
from encroaching matrix or contacts, which is uncommon. Still, most measure in the 1 cm to 1.5 cm range,
so this 3.7 cm octahedron is exceptional.

Textbook 1.2 cm orange wulfenite sits perched upon the corner edge of matrix, nicely balanced thumbnail
with razor sharp faces and no damage.
