S11844 - Prehnite with Quartz - $450 SOLD
Centerville, Augusta County, Virginia
Overall Size: 6 x 5.3 cm
|
|

Fine botryoidal crystals occur at numerous world wide localities, so this should be looked at for what it is; an aesthetically
placed Roman helmet look-alike prehnite to 2 cm long from the U.S., and I might add a splendid example from
Virginia. Comes with old label as well. It must have been carefully extracted because the piece is a near floater.

S11852 - Rhodochrosite on Sphalerite - $1450 SOLD
Eagle Mine, Gilman, Eagle Co., Colorado
Overall Size: 8.4 x 6.3 cm
|
|
|
|
Normally Gilman rhodos don't do much for me, but this isn't your NORMAL rhodochrosite from here. Often flat
without much relief whereas this KILLER has pink rhodos surrounding individual black sphalerites to 3.4 cm,
and the surface isn't covered with rude looking crystals, but instead nice flattened rhombs! If the piece sounds
and looks good from the photos you should see the thing in person, bulging from every angle, in fact upon first
glance we had to do a double take just to make sure we were seeing it correctly. Very fine Colorado rock!

exception. One of the largest balls of pyros ever to have surfaced! Completely off the charts in terms of spherical

It's true, there is a rock for everyone as the old saying goes. Probably not many of us would search for a ROUND

a very fine miniature of copper for what it is.
