Overall Size: 5.2 x 4.4 cm

This nicely positioned, freed, highly exposed carrollite to 1.7 cm crystallized near the top edge of matrix. In most
specimens the mirror-faced crystals develop metallic white luster and complex surface growth, but rarely do tiny
sharp brown barites occur in association, clearly visible under the loupe, a must see!

Exceptional loose group from the somewhat contemporary finds of very high quality! Once very elusive material,
these two highly modified crystals of the sulfide of copper and cobalt that have substantial substitution of nickel
for the metal ions, would have been world-class fetching astronomical prices only a decade ago. NOW thanks to
new production collectors can own a splendid example that would have been out of reach several years ago.

Wonderfully formed carrollites grew on rhombohedral calcites forming a damage free surface. The three octahedral
crystals all have several key features that include; elevated crystallization, extraordinary luster, bright faces and
aesthetically positioned just to name a few, but it is the melted golden chalcopyrite that gives the piece extra charm
in my opinion. A lot of attributes on this handsome plate.

WOW, what a great carrollite crystal! Awesome surface growth resembling Dal'negorsk galena in appearance.
Every square inch reflects bright silvery-white light from all important faces of smooth absolutely pristine quality,
that is nearly all except the bottom back edge or in this case mounting point. Excellent!

S11910 - Carrollite with Calcite - $175
Kamoya South II Mine, Kambove, DRC
Overall Size: 4.2 x 3.7 cm

Over a decade ago, this sharp super-bright octahedral crystal measuring 1.3 cm long would have been around
7K before newer and better material changed how we now compare the species from what is widely regarded
as THE find of carrollite, so some are now available for a few hundred, good news I'd think! No damage.

S11913 - Carrollite - $1500
Kamoya South II Mine, Kambove, DRC
Overall Size: 6 x 4 cm

Spectacular adamantine bright crystals came out of this find from the mysterious and violent mining region in Africa.
This large carrollite can be bought for a fraction of the original cost even now several years after the find. If you can
see the writing on the wall then this is a tangible investment worth owning. Even with size they retain an incredible
level of overall quality and simply off the charts in terms of well defined morphology. Great buy!

Perfect cubic carrollite with octahedral modifications sit frozen in a slightly hidden bed of nicely crystallized calcite
apart from coarsely cleavable white matrix seen in some. The sharpness and luster doesn't get any better than
on this 1.5 cm crystal. This rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide is now plentiful enough, so collectors can own a
splendid example that would have been out of reach many years ago.

Fine bright 3 dimensional carrollite to 2.1 cm across grew next to two smaller crystals that could be used as a

If you are willing to accept a tightly repaired carrollite then this highly lustrous crystal should fit the bill. Measures
1.5 cm tall. All the other important traits exist in the specimen, such as smooth faces, contrast, chemical
formula, etc., and it is no slouch nor should be viewed as a substitute.
