S12531 - Hematite with Quartz - $385
Furkahorn, Uri, Switzerland
Overall Size: 5 x 3.2 cm
Lots of good things to say about this hematite. Its most noticeable feature, that of crystals approaching spherical
shape in tightly arranged and closed flower-like fashion has an unmistakable Swiss alpine type look. But
that's not all, check out the crystal clear smoky quartz in association. A VERY FINE miniature.

S12532 - Rhodonite with Calcite - SOLD
Franklin Mine, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey
Overall Size: 4.6 x 2.6 cm
These Franklin specimens of a past era are very much in demand today. The classic pink blocky crystals in
enclosing calcite remain the premier locality for American rhodonite, and this miniature is really sweet
for the price. In good condition.

S12533 - Cassiterite - $1500 SOLD
Viloco Mine, Araca, Loayza Province, Bolivia
Overall Size: 6.2 x 4.5 cm
As Gunnell's label states "An exceptionally large loose twinned crystal" of which I must agree. The faces aren't in
complex form, but rather in easy to decipher large well crystallized planes of incredible size. Crystals generally vary
in size from 1 to 3 centimeters, so a 6.2 cm cassiterite is just shy of the largest 8 cm crystal on record. Seemingly
black and opaque it is actually transparent when backlit. Cassiterites with such splendor are highly coveted in
worldwide collections, and pieces from this time are next to impossible to obtain.

S12534 - Grossular (Var. Hessonite) with Diopside - $275 SOLD
Eden Mills, Lowell, Vermont
Overall Size: 5.5 x 3.4 cm
Twelve sided cinnamon-orange garnets up to 0.8 cm sit as if they were chiseled out of surrounding pale green
diopside into wonderful dodecahedral sculptures. An abundance of localities exist for grossular, yet only a few
have remarkable gem quality.

S12538 - Cassiterite with Quartz - $450
Huanuni Mine, Oruro, Dalence Province, Bolivia
Overall Size: 8.5 x 5 cm
Rich plate of charcoal-black elongated twins reach 2 x 1.6 cm in size or about the maximum length. The habit
pinpoint it as Huanuni. The nicer matrix specimens have lustrous cassiterite all over it! AND for the tin ore, its
sharp pristine crystallization in excellent display quality make the piece very collectible, 8.5 x 5 cm.

S12540 - Epidote with Quartz - $1250 SOLD
Green Monster Mountain, Prince of Wales Island, Alaska
Overall Size: 5.4 x 4.1 cm
A classic Prince of Wales epidote exhibiting superb quality! This is not always the case. Crystals from several
pockets dating to the early 1900s show varying degrees of luster, clean surfaces and lack of damage, all the more
reason why I highly recommend this group. The main 2.7 cm doubly terminated twin has all the essential properties
mentioned and with its siblings form a damage free floater. Glass-like in person!

S12541 - Orpiment - $675 SOLD
Quiruvilca Mine, Santiago de Chuco Province, Peru
Overall Size: 13 x 8.2 cm
What a striking piece to mount on a display shelf! Very attractive one inch burnt orange crystals partially line this
cabinet plate from a 1978 find as indicated on the back of Ostrinski's label. Among other worldwide locations,
the occurrence, well-known to collectors, has produced some remarkable orpiment specimens, both of
size and appeal, 13 x 8.2 cm.

S12542 - Epidote with Quartz - $850
Green Monster Mountain, Prince of Wales Island, Alaska
Overall Size: 5.5 x 3.8 cm
Green Monster Mountain has been known for fine epidotes since the early 1900s. Not quite the quality of the
above specimen, but still lustrous, well formed and more importantly grouped together in a very architectural
way. Would make a wonderful and smart pick to an American suite!

S12543 - Stibnite - $400
Herja Mine, Baia Mare, Maramures Co., Romania
Overall Size: 5 x 3 cm
The smoothness is like highly perfected blades of polished steel terminating at one end. The only word that comes
to mind is WOW, not necessarily because of the quality, but because it is one of the rare thick prisms from Romania!
Outstanding spray of stibnite!

S12544 - Willemite (Var. Troostite) with Franklinite - $325
Sterling Hill Mine, Ogdensburg, Sussex Co., New Jersey
Overall Size: 4.5 x 3 cm
Troostite is the manganese rich variety of willemite and if my memory serves correct the only significant locality.
Typical franklinite and calcite in association in this attractive miniature, willemite cluster measures 3 x 2.5 cm.

S12545 - Marcasite after Anhydrite - $225
Sweetwater Mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri
Overall Size: 5 x 2 cm
A fantastic and odd 5 x 2 cm pseudomorph of marcasite in concretionary form over what use to be a thin blade
of anhydrite. Minerals easily form after anhydrite due to the solvent nature of this soft sulfate. However,
pseudos from here remain largely unseen. No damage.
S12546 - Marcasite after Anhydrite - $200
Sweetwater Mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri
Overall Size: 3.1 x 2.2 cm
Another fantastic and odd pseudomorph of marcasite in concretionary form over what use to be a thin blade
of anhydrite. Minerals easily form after anhydrite due to the solvent nature of this soft sulfate. However,
pseudos from here remain largely unseen.

S12548 - Arsenopyrite with Tetrahedrite - $265 SOLD
Julcani Mine, Angaraes Province, Peru
Overall Size: 7.3 x 5.5 cm
This brilliant arsenopyrite does not show the common diamond-shaped habit. It is, instead, the much more rarely
seen type of long prismatic morphology from the mine where this growth is quite uncommon in extra sharp crystals
of intense luster. Nice tetrahedrite too!
S12549 - Arsenopyrite - $285
Julcani Mine, Angaraes Province, Peru
Overall Size: 7 x 6.3 cm
This growth is quite uncommon in extra sharp crystals where the arsenopyrite does not show the common
diamond-shaped habit. It is, instead, the much more rarely seen type of long prismatic morphology
from the mine in extreme 3 dimensional "hedgehog" growth.

S12556 - Goethite - $150 SOLD
Lake George, Park Co., Colorado
Overall Size: 4.4 x 3.3 cm
This distinct group of splintery goethite furnishes not one but about fifteen perfect fan-like crystals without EVEN
the tinniest of bruises. Even though black in color quality sprays are highly desirable.
